The debate “Implementation of the Recommendations from the Anti-Corruption Council’s Report on Ownership Structure and Control of the Media”

On the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the Anti-corruption Council (ACC), the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS), the Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS), the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (NDNV) and the Media Center Niš are organizing a public debate on the 6th May in Belgrade.

The debate, “Implementation of the Recommendations from the Anti-Corruption Council’s Report on Ownership Structure and Control of the Media,” aims at providing a discussion forum for media professionals on key findings and recommendations of the report published by the advisory body of the Government of Republic of Serbia. This will be the first discussion on the report following the debate in the Parliamentary Committee for Culture and Information which took place in March this year.

Participants will include journalists, editors, representatives of state bodies, civil society organizations, diplomatic corps and international organizations, as well as academia.

The speakers/panelists will include Miroslav Milićević and Miroslava Milenović from the Anti- Corruption Council, Rodoljub Šabić, the Commissioner for Free Access to Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Saša Janković, Ombudsperson, Goran Karadžić, President of the Council of Regulatory Body for Electronic Media, Ljiljana Smajlović, President of UNS, and Vukašin Obradović, President of NUNS. The debate will be moderated by Nedim Sejdinović, President of Executive Board of NDNV and Gordana Janković, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Media Department.

Agenda
